The Reproductive & Maternal Wellbeing Lab

The lab is located within TC. Our team consists of counseling, clinical, and health psychology faculty and students who are passionate about researching and teaching in this field. We collaborate with others all over the country and world to advance the science and public understanding of reproductive wellbeing and reproductive identity development.

Why This Work Matters
Our work is increasingly urgent in a rapidly shifting landscape marked by historically low fertility rates, rollbacks in reproductive health access, and expanding reproductive technologies. At the same time, individuals across genders and geographies are navigating complex questions about if, when, how, and whether (or not) to become parents. We believe that reproductive wellbeing requires more than medical or behavioral guidance—it requires an identity-informed, developmentally grounded framework that honors the psychological, relational, cultural, and ethical dimensions of reproductive life.
